Review: Bad CD/DVD Recovery is a powerful Windows program that can recover files from damaged and corrupted discs. Once launched, the application automatically scans the inserted disc, be it a CD or a DVD, and displays the recoverable data, along with file system information. The main window does the whole job because it lets you select the files you want to be recovered and start any of the supported actions, including ISO extracting, burning and mounting. Recovering a file is just a matter of clicks. Pick the items you want to be included in the process and hit the ?Recover File? button at the top of the window. Bad CD/DVD Recovery takes care of the whole process and displays a bunch of statistics when the job comes to an end. One of the setbacks weve discovered during our test concerns the main windows dimensions. You cannot resize this window and this is quite a problem, especially when you are trying to recover files with longer names. On the good side however, Bad CD/DVD Recovery seems to be a very fast software solution, as it manages to deal with damaged media in just a few minutes. It however failed to serve its purpose in the most extreme test with a severely scratched disc and it sometimes stopped responding. All in all, Bad CD/DVD Recovery deserves a try, but some improvements here and there are still required. It works with many types of discs and relies on a very effective engine, doing an excellent job with moderately damaged media.
